Vipperow, a district of the municipality of Südmüritz, is situated on the southern shore of Lake Müritz between the small towns of Röbel/Müritz and Mirow (both approx. 11 km away) and is an ideal starting point for all water sports enthusiasts. From here, you can access the Müritz arm with its connections to Lake Müritz and Lake Nebel, as well as the Müritz-Havel Canal, which links Lake Müritz – Germany’s largest inland lake – with the waters of the southern Mecklenburg Lake District and northern Brandenburg. Particularly in summer, you can see numerous amateur sailors here in sailing boats, rowing boats or canoes. There are several rental outlets in the immediate vicinity. Just a few kilometres north of Vipperow lies the Müritz National Park, which can be explored by bike or on foot via the well-developed network of paths. The popular Müritz Cycle Route runs right through the village. Guided excursions are also offered for wildlife and birdwatching. There is a restaurant right in the village, whilst further dining options, shops, a marina, jetties, children’s playgrounds and much more can be found in Rechlin, approximately 4 km away.
