The capital of Noord-Holland is the city of Haarlem. The city lies just outside of Amsterdam and was once a major North Sea trading port. The city has retained its typically medieval character and the centre is made up of cobbled streets and laneways and traditional houses. The area is also known as a major flower-bulb producer and the city is surrounded by beautiful tulip fields which you can visit whilst renting one of our range of Holland accommodation. There are also plenty of markets, art museums and other Dutch cultural attractions. The local St. Bavo church and the museum in a windmill are worth a visit.
The most famous city of North-Holland is of course Amsterdam and no stay in one of or range of Holland accommodation in the area would be complete without a day trip to this historic and world-famous cities. The city is filled with numerous monuments, museums with masterpieces of big artists, such as Rembrandt and Van Gogh, which attract huge numbers of tourists every year.
