Alternatively, why not pick up some typical local produce to cook at the villa, perhaps trying to replicate one of the new dishes you have tried on the island, or in mainland regions such as Andalusia? To maximise the authenticity of self-catering in Spain, relax the Majorcan way with a gorgeous sunset, a glass of fine wine, a delicious paella and a stroll along the promenade or a night time dip in the swimming pool.

There are plenty of things to do in Majorca! Those who want to see the history and the culture of the island can do this in one of the many museums, churches and monuments. In Palma, for example, Cathedral La Seu has an impressive Gothic-Roman design, which peers over the city, and the Es Baluard Museum of Modern Art is packed with fabulous paintings and sculptures. History-buffs will love exploring the Arab Baths, one of the most important relics of Moorish architecture that exists in Europe.
