Karojba I Croatia villas
Croatia villas in Karojba Istria
It is thought that the name ‘Korojba’ derives from the Latin word ‘Quadrivium’, which means ‘the place where four roads meet’. Today, however, there are only three roads that run through the enchanting landscape, which is dotted with wooded hills, green pastures and vineyards. The area is steeped in history, which dates back to the prehistoric times. Although historians have somewhat struggled to piece together this history, it is generally agreed that the area was home to a Roman military camp. Be sure to keep an eye out for the historical remnants during a stay in one of NOVASOL’s Croatian villas.
Creeks, canyons and Croatia holiday resorts
Whilst visiting Karojba, the beautiful canyon at the stream of Krvar is a must see. The stream eventually flows into the River Mirna, not far away. Nearby there are three springs, Badavca, Valigastar and Knež Studenac, which still offer refreshments to its visitors. Badavca also acts as an annual meeting point for Istrian writers who gather to read their works near the source of the spring. The pretty canyon attracts visitors from near and far, including those staying in our apartments Dalmatia!
Discover delicious local cuisine
Karojba is known for its wide variety of dining options available, which extend far beyond its village borders. Discover the local restaurants and sample some of the traditional dishes on offer. Delicious homemade vegetable soups, sausages and the like are still made according to traditional recipes. Be sure to sample the homemade pasta filled with wild asparagus. The area also grows the finest truffles so keep your eye out for these! Lots of our guests in Croatian villas often combine a holiday spent discovering the local cuisine with cycling holidays – what a fantastic way to relax after a day on the saddle!
Cheap holidays and Cetiri Pinije
Fans of our forest holidays will love the opportunity to visit Cetiri Pinije. The natural monument dates back over 200 years and is quite striking; huge pines that have an imposing umbrella shaped form stand out in a striking comparison to its landscape. The highest tree has a circumference of over three metres and a height of more than fourteen metres! Guests in our Pula accommodation may also wish to visit the area during a daytrip, as it is approximately an hour by car from the town.
If you’re seeking Croatia holiday resorts that offer the opportunity to truly relax away from mass tourism, be sure to visit Karojba!
