Novigrad is the perfect destination if you are interested in holiday apartments in Croatia, as it combines an exciting beach life and cultural activities. Rent family friendly Croatia holiday villas through NOVASOL and have a perfect base for a family holiday. Every summer Novigrad hosts an international jazz festival, which is just one of many music and art festivals on offer throughout the year. Besides wonderful cultural events, you can have an active sports holiday here too. Sailing, canoeing, sport fishing, and trekking are just a few activities around town. Excellent restaurants line the streets and chefs use tasty, local produce like olive oil from the region, as well as fresh fish from the sea. So this is a great place for food-lovers.
Many people have left their architectural mark on this city. From the Greeks of Byzantium, the Romans, the Frankish Empire, the Venetians, Napoleon, to the Habsburgs and the Italians. The region has experienced many rulers, but today Novigrad is a free city and very proud of their heritage. Some of the special attractions of Novigrad in Croatia are the churches, and there are plenty right on the doorstep of our Croatian villas in Istria. Visit the church of Sts. Lady of Mount Carmel from the 15th century, which is a typically Istrian, aisled building that was formerly a convent church. The parish church of St. Pelagius has three naves and its tower was built on the model of St. Mark's tower in Venice. The church has long been Episcopal Church, portraits inside the church show former bishops.
