Buenavista is located in the North West of Tenerife in the lowlands area of the island, which is also called the Isla Baja region. It is located next to the Teno mountains and once a sleepy old town is now more popular with tourists and other visitors to the island of Tenerife, although much quieter and more relaxed than in other areas on the island. Buenavista has lots of banana plantations and fantastic views of the coastline and mountains. This makes it a great place for a holiday villas in Canary Islands.
Buenavista is in the greener and vegetated part of Tenerife and is well known as a destination for golf due to the Buenavista Golf Course, which was designed by Seve Ballesteros. The golf course has superb views and the 18 hole course offers a challenge for even the best golfer. Top golfers visit Buenavista and the Tenerife Ladies Open is also hosted here, which is worth watching while on holiday in one of our holiday homes in Spain.
The rugged coastline is a beautiful place to visit whether to watch the fishermen, swim in the rock pools or head to the pebble and black sand beach called Las Arenas. At Las Arenas you will find more locals than tourists and it is also a good place for surfing or just taking in the incredible views. In this area, you will find good restaurants which serve the best local fish specialities. If you are self catering in Spain on the island of Tenerife, then you can buy local ingredients to prepare your own meals as well as enjoying the local restaurants in Buenavista. If the weather is not so good, you can drive into the Teno mountains on the winding mountainous roads as the weather and landscape will change as you head towards Punta Teno. There are many amazing walks and hikes in the Teno mountains which are accessible from Buenavista and great views over the Palmar valley. The Teno Mountains are one of the most remote areas of the island of Tenerife but also one of the most stunning and best places to visit while on holiday villas in Spain. The area is well known for its goat cheese, so make sure that you stop to pick up some for your picnic.
