The typically Spanish white houses of Sant Pol de Mar cluster around the 11th century church of Sant Pau, where the area gets its name. Parts of this landmark building date back even further to the 6th and 10th centuries, making it a must-see on your list whilst you rent a villa in Spain. The 16th century Gothic church of St. Jaume is also marvellous with its functioning bell tower and intricate interior carvings from the Baroque period.
