The Costa Brava, or 'rugged coast', is the name of the coast in the Girona province, which borders the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees. Locations along the Costa Brava are among the most significant holiday destinations for holiday lettings and villa rental in Spain. The enchanting coast is 214 km long and attracts a great number of tourists due to the turquoise sea, the fine white beaches and the luxuriant flora. With dozens of villas in Costa Brava to choose from with NOVASOL, you may think it’s difficult for any one region to stand out, but the Costa Brava is always popular for its beautiful scenery and relaxed atmosphere.
Along the coast you will find small picturesque fishing villages such as L’Estartit and Tamuriu, and smaller bays which can be reached by boat. In the mountains near the coast, you can see country cottages amidst cork oaks, stone pines and acacia. Wild growing thyme and rosemary is also typical of the region. Costa Brava is sometimes described as inaccessible, rugged and wild, but in Golf de Roses you can enjoy small flat sandy beaches. Every year, tourists are attracted by the forests, the charming villages and the 2,500 sunny hours a year. Our Catalonian villas are located in Tossa De Mar, Sant Pol De Mar, L'Escala and Playa D'Aro, and many more destinations.
Don’t let the nickname of this coastline fool you – there are some incredibly beautiful, sandy and child-friendly beaches in this area. On the beaches of the Costa Brava you can completely relax and enjoy your holiday with plenty of local activities. Villa holidays needn’t be complex, but just to simplify things further, we have an indicator of how far away the nearest beach to each of our properties is. We recommend the gentle waves of Les Muscleres in L'Escala for family holidays and Moll Grec for swimming, snorkelling or riding a pedal boat.
Although beach holidays are the main draw to the Costa Brava, there is so much to do in terms of cultural exploration. Girona, for example, has a host of ruins, museums, festivals and art. Don’t miss the ‘festa major’, which is the main celebration of each town’s customs and identity. The towns of Costa Brava come alive with performance, costume and festivities, so be sure to book holiday villas in Costa Brava to coincide with local events. And, if you want to admire the attractions of Barcelona, the famous city is easily reached in the car or on the train.
NOVASOL has a fabulous range of Spanish villas, apartments and fincas to choose from. Destinations along the Mediterranean coast of Spain, particularly the Costa Brava, offer unrivalled sun, food and culture. Try self-catering family holidays and explore the local environment at your own leisure, visiting as many beaches, castles and restaurants as you desire. And, after a full day of relaxation, retire to your holiday lettings to enjoy the comfort, privacy and shared environment. It doesn’t get much more laid-back than this!
