Wildlife and active self-catering holidays
The countryside in and around the town is beautiful with a varied landscape of sand dunes, plantations and the Hansted Reservation – the biggest wildlife refuge of the country of nearly 4,000 hectares. The reservation stretches from Klitmoller to Hanstholm and predominantly consists of heather and heaths.
If you are more interested in fishing or cycling and walking trips, the area offers many experiences. You can rent a bike or go horse riding several places, and if you are up to a trip on the water you can try windsurfing – or you can visit Lokken, Blokhus or Hanstholm, which are big towns in the area.
