Situated just seven kilometres southeast of Zadar in a wide bay known as the ‘Golden Harbour’ (Zlatna Luka), lies the town of Sukošan. Sukošan is home to 3,000 inhabitants and includes the municipalities Debeljak, Glavica and Gorica. Sukošan is ideal for family holidays and you will discover plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. The Feast of St Cassian takes place on August 13th in honour of the patron saint, Saint Cassian. The day is jam-packed with activities: from 8am there is a mass in the parish church of St Cassian, followed by a procession through the old town. You will find that nearly every house prepares a roasted lamb on a spit, which is offered to visitors from near and far. After a long and hearty lunch, revellers drink wine and soak up the atmosphere, which is followed by fun, dancing and fireworks late into the evening. The clubs and cafes are brimming with activity, as the locals mingle together until the early hours of the morning.
