Affordable Côte d’Azur villas

Foreign visitors began to flock to the French Riviera in the middle of the 19th century in order to escape from the cold and gloomy winter in northern Europe. Since then, the area has only grown in popularity, and renting a holiday home along the Côte d'Azur is now one of the best ways to experience all that this area offers. The region is known for its lovely beaches, local markets, and captivating scenery. Fabulous weather for much of the year and a diverse landscape means that the French Riviera is a magnificent destination for family holidays.

The coast near Nice has some of the best beaches in all of France, while to the east, by the mountain ridge of Massif des Maures, there is the St Tropez peninsula, home to artists, beaches and fun nightlife. If you decide to venture inland, away from the busy seaside, you will find an altogether more tranquil pace of life in an area that is filled with ancient villages, vineyards, olive groves and pine forests. Of course the region is also known for its fragrant lavender fields, and in flowering season, from mid June to mid July, it is a sight and scent to behold. 

Along with the fresh fish and seafood on offer, nothing says Côte d'Azur more than pastis – a liquorice flavoured spirit which is favoured by the locals – particularly after a game of French Boules. If you prefer a lighter refreshment, the greater Provence region produces some of the best rosé in the world, which can be enjoyed either in a harbour-side café or on the terraces of your Côte d'Azur villa.
