Visit Loulé with its local markets, or go for a dinner of typical Portuguese cuisine and a glass of “Medronho” while you listen to live jazz in the old city of Silves. Praia da Marinha, Algarve

It is quite a climb down through dozens of steps, but then you are in a special location.
The capital of Portugal is located on the Tagus River. This large and fairly populous city has a wealth of historical, cultural and culinary experiences on offer. There are many museums such as the Museum Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, the national museum of tiles Museu Nacional do Azulejo and the largest museum of modern contemporary art in Portugal Museu Berardo Colecção where you can gain an insight into both the old and modern Portuguese culture. Jeronimos Monastery in the Belem district is a monastery belonging to one of the prominent buildings of the city. Costa de Prata
Less than 100 km north of Lisbon you will find one of the most diverse areas in Portugal. The port city of Porto is known worldwide for its production of fine Port wines in is definitely worth a visit on your self catering holiday. Wines from the neighbourhood Vila Nova de Gaia are famous throughout the world. But Porto certainly has more to offer. For example there is a very famous and historic bookstore named Livraria Lello & Irmão in the centre. When you see the grandiose interior, you won’t believe your own eyes.
