Dog friendly beaches
Tuscany dog beaches - Italy villas
Tuscany with its beautiful nature and beautiful sights is wonderful for dog-friendly holidays. It is easy to reach by car from many other destinations and is, especially in the summer, suitable for bringing your pets along with you to stay in your Italian villas. Aside from there being dog-friendly cottages all over Italy, in Tuscany there is also an extensive range of lovely beaches where your four-legged friends can come with you. In Tuscany you can choose among numerous dog beaches. They can be identified by the words Dog Beach or Spiaggia per cani.
Find a dog beach on your Italian villa holidays
In the popular resort of San Vincenzo in the province of Livorno is a Dog Beach at Via della Principessa which opens its doors in the spring. It is very well equipped with sunbeds, umbrellas, dog shower, veterinarian and dog sitter, etc. Book your Italian villas nearby so you can visit this beautiful beach more often! Although, keep in mind that each beach has its own rules and usually during the day dogs should be kept on their leads in most places. You may still be able to swim together in the sea but check the rules with your local tourist office, online or on the signs that should be posted.
Beaches near your holiday lettings in Italy
In Tuscany there are dog beaches in Follonica, Punta Ala, Marina di Grosseto, Orbetello, Antignano, Bernardini, Cecina, Delle Tamerici, Felciaio, Golfo di Baratti, Lungomare Ardenza, Bibbona / Cecina Mare, Piombino and Quagliodromo. The dog beach at Marina di Castagneto is only 25 kilometres from Cecina. Here there are beautiful excursions to be had on your Italian villa holidays. Do some research and find the nearest beach to you, or simply relax at your villa and let your dog run free in the garden whilst you swim in the pool.
Amenities at dog beaches
At most dog beaches you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas. Often there is also a dog shower available so you can rinse the salt water from the fur of dogs. In small stalls you can access drinking water and sometimes buy dog food. Especially in summer, it is important to make sure your four-legged friend has enough to drink. The general dog ban on public beaches is not always taken strictly in Italy - especially at night and during low season. With a little caution and mutual consideration of others enjoying the beach and for your holiday lettings Italy is the perfect place for a holiday with your dog!
