Despite the size of the country, there is an enormous diversity of things to do in Denmark including cultural events for both adults and children. Even if the sun is not shining on some of the days, there is still so much to be discovered, all close to our thousands of Danish holiday homes. Why not visit Universe in Als or the Old Town of Aarhus, the Kattegat Centre in Ebeltoft or Hans Christian Andersen's childhood home in Odense? All over Denmark, you will find numerous attractive water and amusement parks, including The Original Legoland Denmark, Djurs Sommerland, Fårup Sommerland, Sommerland Syd, and the legendary BonBon-Land. All of them are child-friendly, making great activities for active families. Moreover, there are many wildlife parks and zoos that are within easy reach of most holiday resorts, like Givskud Zoo in central Jutland, Knuthenborg safari park on Lolland and of course the zoos in Denmark's cities.
Festivals and events
In addition to numerous museums and galleries in Denmark that you could visit, a whole range of cultural events take place all over the country in the summer, so find out where your favourite Denmark villas are located and which events take place during which time of the year. - If you enjoy folk music, you have to visit Southern Jutland for Tønder, which usually takes place on the last weekend of August.
- For the younger audience, the Roskilde festival in Zealand end of June / beginning of July is a must and can be reached easily from our numerous Danish holiday homes.
- An insider tip is also the “Visefestival” which takes place in Skagen at the last weekend of June.
- A remarkable festival is the European Medieval Times Festival in Horsens, which usually takes place end of August, when the town is transformed into a medieval market town with jousting knights, theatres, music, jugglers, active workshops, concerts and medieval weddings.

- Self-catering holiday attractions: Castle Kronborg in Helsingør, Castle Amalienborg and The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen, Danfoss Univers on Als, The Old City in Aarhus, The Kattegat centre in Ebeltoft, Odense Zoo.
- The church buried in sand in Skagen from 1300 AD was used for services until 1795. Nowadays, the entrance is completely buried under the sand and there is no access to the inside.
- Visit Odense and experience H. C. Andersen’s childhood home and the house he used to live in later on.
- Enjoy Legoland in Billund, which is perfect for family holidays. Here you can 'travel' through all of Denmark and the whole world in one day and see the most fantastic sculptures build in lego bricks.

Wildlife parks and zoos in Denmark
