Marinas

Croatia holiday homes by the marina

It’s hard to resist a relaxed stroll along the marina whether you are enjoying the warm sunshine dance off the water, settling down for a lunch of fresh seafood, taking a boat trip or having a cocktail in the evening. This is a special experience whilst self-catering in Croatia and, luckily, there are about a hundred magnificent marinas along the Croatian coast and islands of the country. What’s even better is that more than thirty of them are located in Dalmatia. So when you book your family holiday in Croatia, remember the location of the marina and head down to relax in the fresh sea air with your loved ones.

Don’t miss Zadar’s marina whilst self-catering Dalmatia

Zadar is the main urban centre of northern Dalmatia and the marina is well worth a visit. It lies protected between the peninsula and the mainland, offering shelter without sacrificing stunning views of the valuable buildings in the city and the harbour with the cruise ships. Don’t leave your cameras at your Croatia holiday homes as there will be several photo opportunities! Admire the yachts and enjoy people-watching as time ticks by in this beautiful location. There are also plenty of amazing restaurants serving traditional, local fare which can be recommended. The fish and shellfish is extremely fresh and prepared with immense skill and practice.

Self-catering Dalmatia is plain sailing

About ten kilometers southeast of Zadar is the holiday resort Sukošan in the Zlatna Luka or ‘Golden Harbour’ in English. Book NOVASOL holiday homes or apartments in Croatia and see the ‘Marina Dalmacija’, the largest marina in the Adriatic. Sukošan is located right at the entrance to the archipelago Kornati and offers sailing trips to various beautiful and protected islands. The ACI Marina Dubrovnik in southern Dalmatia lies at the mouth of the river Ombla and also promises exciting sailing excursions and walking opportunities. Access to the marina is through the inlet of Rijeka Dubrovačka, with its wonderful scenery and deep, blue water.

Spoiled for choice with NOVASOL apartments in Croatia

The location of your accommodation doesn’t matter too much, as so long as you are near the sea, you should be able to find a marina. In Central Dalmatia between Trogir, Kaštela and Split, and between Split and Omiš, there are almost twenty marinas and each is more beautiful and more impressive than the last. You could arrange to drive along this route and find your favourite location. We recommend whilst self-catering in Croatia that you visit the Marina Sangulin and Marina Kornati in Biograd, which are located in a bay and protected from the sea by a jetty.
