Puerto Calero I Canaries I Lanzarote
Spain Canaries Lanzarote
Puerto Calero is located in the south west of Lanzarote and only 10 kilometres from the airport making it easily accessible. It is also only 20 kilometres from the capital of Lanzarote, Arrecife, which is also worth visiting while on holiday in your villa in Canaries. Due to its location, it is a great place for a marina as it is sheltered from the island’s strong winds by the nearby island of Fuerteventura and the mountain range forming the coast of Punta Gorda. Puerto Calero was named after the developer Jose Calero who designed the marina, which opened in 1986. The marina is a luxurious destination for a holiday home in Spain. Due to its popularity, the size of the marina was doubled in 1999 and more shops, apartments and villas in Canary Islands were built. The marina at Puerto Calero is also called Millionaire’s Harbour, due to all of the luxury yachts, which make a great spectacle.
