    • Movable feast according to Gregorian calendar: Kurban Bayrami (Feast of the Presentation), the most important Sunni muslim bank holiday. During this holiday prophet Ibrahim is remembered. He was ready to sacrifice his son Ismail to Allah (see: Isaac’sacrifice).
    • 23rd April: Ulusal Egemenlik ve Çocuk Bayramı (Independence Day and Children’s Day). Remembrance day about establishing the National Assembly and independence as basis of Republic.
    • 19th May: Atatürk´ü Anma, Gençlik ve Spor Bayramı (Youth’s and Sport’s Day, also Atatürk’s Day). Remembrance day of Atatürk’s arrival to Samsum. Beginning of liberation war.
    • 30th August: : Zafer Bayramı (Liberation Day). Remembrance day about final victory Başkomutanlık Meydan Savaşı in Turkish liberation war.
    • 29th October: Cumhuriyet Bayramı (Rebublic Holiday). Public bank holiday reminding people of the Republic by Atatürk in 1923.
    • Movable feast: Ramazan Bayramı (Sugar Holiday) – poses end of the Ramadan fast month
