If your trip to one of our apartments in Spain allows you enough time, it is recommended that you drive through the strait Els Freus, past the islands Penjat and Espalmador.

Spanish villas Formentera

Villas in Ibiza I Discover plenty of history and culture

The barren, yet charming island of Formentera was mentioned by Jules Verne in his book The journey through the Solar System. Whilst relaxing in one of our villas in Ibiza, it is well worth visiting Verne’s memorial at the lighthouse at Cap de la Mola.

Holiday Rentals Spain I Explore by bike

With an area of 82km², the island is the second smallest inhabited island in the Balaeric Islands. Our Spain villas holidays are perfect for those wishing to explore by bicycle. The island is only 20 kilometres long; in fact, from the port to the capital Sant Francesc de Formentera, there are just three kilometres! Not to be missed is the capital’s fortified church of Sant Francesc Xavier, as well as City Hall and restaurants.

In Roman times the island was one of the granaries of the Mediterranean, as the Latin derived name. ‘Frumentaria’, which means ‘grain surface’ suggests. Whilst sampling one of our villas in Spain, you may wish to admire the island’s beautiful greenery.

Holiday Rentals Spain I Climate and beaches

Formentera has a very pleasant climate: the Cap de Barbaria lighthouse is approximately 220 kilometres from North Africa, which ensures that the winds from the Mediterranean somewhat cool the Saharan heat. Whilst staying at one of our many villas in Ibiza, it is recommended that you make the most of this climate and stop at the magnificent beaches of Formentara, for example, in Es Pujols!

In the 60's, the hippies discovered the island during the ‘flower power’ era. Familiarize yourself in our holiday lettings Spain on the island of Ibiza and tread in the footsteps of the hippies! Some celebrities of that music scene have temporarily lived on Formentara. Remnants of the flower children can be found at the Hippy Market in El Pilar de la Mola, as well as the Bar Fonda Pepe and Bobs lending library in Sant Ferran.
