Holiday homes in Slovakia
Slovakia is bound by the Tatry Mountains in the north and the warm, sunny wine districts in the south. The countryside is still unspoiled, the mountains are for walking in and the many lakes and rivers provide countless opportunities for sailing, fishing and swimming. As a rule, Vienna and Budapest are within easy reach for day trips when you stay in one of NOVASOL's 200 holiday homes in Slovakia. Slovakia's own capital, Bratislava, is also an exciting city with great contrasts between modern and historical architecture.
Size of plotThe plots on which the holiday homes are situated are often natural areas. The number of m2 stated does not mean that the entire area can be used or that the plot has been levelled and cultivated.
Size and layoutThe squaremetre-size, indicated in the house description, is the outside dimension of the house. The inside dimension can be up to 15% less. Most of the holiday homes are privately owned and individually equipped. The holiday homes are, therefore, furnished and decorated to each owner's individual taste and means. Please note, there is often plenty of space in the living room, but less in the bedrooms.
In some houses the floor-to-ceiling height is less than normal. Also in some houses the kitchen is integrated in the living room. Kitchen equipment is also individual, but as a minimum there is dinner servie and cutlery for the number of persons for which the holiday home is permitted.
Bedrooms / bedsBedrooms are often small and single beds measuring approximately 70/85 x 170/190 cm. Likewise, double beds are also shorter and narrower than normal. Mattresses are often of foam.
Bedrooms in a holiday home are often smaller than at home and might have bunk beds (see description of the holiday home). In some holiday cottages, the bedrooms aren't furnished with a wardrobe.
In some houses one of the bedrooms might be a bed loft. An open area under an insulated roof, with slanting walls and mattresses placed on the floor or furnished with beds. The bed loft is usually only accessible by a steep stair/ladder and is not suitable for adults, but very popular with older children. Bedrooms might also be in an annex, which is eighter an extension to the holiday home or a small, separate house. There is often no heating available in an annex.
Bed linen, cloth, towels, tea towels, cleaning articles, kitchen roll, toilet paper etc. do not belong to the equipment, but has to be brought with you or bought on site. The house is equipped with pillows and duvets for the allowed number of persons.
For some houses bed linen is included. For others it is possible to rent, if you fill in the paper attached to your rental agreement and through here let the house owner know, that you wish to order bed linen.
Bathroom / toiletUnfortunately, blocked drains are often caused by incorrect use. Therefore, never throw or flush nappies, cotton wool, sanitary towels, tampons, towels, etc. in the toilet. Emptying the septic tank and clearing the block can be very costly and should you have caused the problem, the charge will be transferred to your bill and deducted from your deposit.
